Welcome to Molina Lab
The main research activity in Molina lab is to build stochastic biophysical models of eukaryotic gene regulation. Recent experimental technologies allow us to measure Protein-DNA interactions, post-transcriptional histone modifications and chromatin 3D structure at the genome level (Chip-seq, Hi-C, etc.). Time-course experiments using these methods present a unique opportunity to study the dynamics of gene regulation. The next challenge is now to integrate all these data in a coherent and comprehensive mathematical framework using stochastic and probabilistic modeling as well as statistical mechanics techniques, in summary, to move from descriptive biology to predictive systems biology.
